Get ready for our 2026 Spring Elections

Wednesday 28-01-2026 - 14:14

In just a couple of months, YOU could be elected as Student President or Vice President of Education at the GSA Students' Association, becoming the voice of GSA Students.

Any student can run for the roles. You just need to get in touch with gsasa@gsa.ac.uk from February 10th to March 2nd. Oh, and both the Student President and Vice President are full-time jobs with salaries of £26,913.90.

But what would I even be running for...

The President and VP work together to represent GSA students by providing you with a voice and a seat at the table when it comes to the school's decision making. While there are a few key differences between the two roles, they work as a team to fight for your interests.

The Elections will be held from March 31st, starting at 10am, and finishing at 2pm on April 2nd. If elected, you will officially begin on July 31st.

(P.S. You might occasionally hear about us talking about Sabbatical Officers, but don't worry, that's just another term for the two roles)

What are the differences...

The Student President leads the Students' Association by spearheading campaigns and student-led initiatives on campus and beyond. They are the lead student representative on the GSA's Board of Governors and chair our Board of Trustees.

Meanwhile, the Vice President of Education is the main advocate for your academic needs. They strive to influence education policies by working with Class Reps and other students to address your concerns.

Can anyone be elected...

To be eligible, all you need to be is a current...

a) GSA student (including international students), or
b) President or Vice President

What if I know someone who'd be perfect for this...

This year we're giving you the chance to Recommend a Friend.

If you know someone who's passionate about representation, communities, campaigning, sustainability, and leadership, fill in THIS FORM between February 10th and February 20th.

What should I do until February 10th...

You can take a look at the job descriptions for the roles, check out this presentation done by Rufus our current Student President, or you can just reach out to us through email (gsasa@gsa.ac.uk) or pop into our office (2nd floor of the Students' Association).
