Assemble, Exchange is a cross-disciplinary peer crit session facilitated on this occasion by Rufus Horton and Choterina Freer at the GSA Students' Association. Assemble, Exchange is designed to encourage collaborative learning, providing a space for students from all programmes across GSA to engage in critical discussions and share ideas and references.
This event is taking place as part of the ‘Voices of Stone’ exhibition:
‘Voices of Stone’
An exhibition led and curated by Yuchen Liu
Location: Project Space 1, 2nd Floor, GSA Students' Association
Open: Monday 27th April, 12 - 5pm and Tuesday 28th April, 10 - 5pm
Private View: Tuesday 28th April, 5 - 7pm
'Voices of Stone' invites visitors into a quiet, tactile space shaped by intuition, attention and material presence. The exhibition showcases small works created by GSA students during a participatory workshop, where each person began simply by choosing a stone and sensing its weight, texture and subtle details. Through gentle guidance and open-ended making, the stones were wrapped, marked, assembled and transformed using thread, pigment, paper and found fragments.
Together, all the works form a small “micro-collection” that encourages slow looking and close attention. Brought together in the calm of the Project Space, they offer a moment to pause, notice and reflect - opening space for visitors to explore how material encounters can shift perception and spark new ways of imagining and relating to the world around us.
